Disposition is used to document where a patient goes when they leave the ED. The information collected varies based on where the patient is headed when they leave the ED.
To access the Disposition page, use one of the following methods:
(Preferred method) From the ED Dashboard, use the Select Current ED Patient field to select the appropriate patient using the drop-down list. Then, click the Disposition button. The Disposition Select box is displayed.
OR
Click the Disposition button on the ED Dashboard. The Patient Search box is displayed. Begin typing the patient information. See Searching for Patients for additional details on using this feature.
Using the drop-down menu in the Disposition Status box, select the appropriate disposition type for the patient. Then, click Select. Based on the status you select, the next screen will vary. Use the instructions in the appropriate section for the type you selected:
Discharge to Home (Self Care), Hospice, Hospice Facility, or AMA
Discharge/Transfer to another facility
Admitting to this Hospital or a Critical Access Hospital (CAH)
