Detail Information |
- Due to Meaningful Use, 2 episodes are always required. - Typically PPS sites require a single claim combining the ED and IP charges. - Typically CAH sites submit separate claims for ED and IP services. |
- Optional to have 1 or 2 episodes. - Due to billing and reporting purposes, episodes can be split and then the charges combined utilizing the auto charge combine process. - No MU affect if there is 1 or 2 visits. |
- Could be 1 or 2 episodes depending on Syndromic Surveillance requirements which vary from state to state in regards to observation. - For billing purposes, CAH facilities required 2 episodes & claims and PPS facilities need to submit one combined claim for OP & IP services. |
