Note List

The Notes List displays a history of the notes for the patient record. To access the Notes List, using the sidebar menu,  select Note List. The Notes List is displayed.[+] Notes that are displayed in the Note List are a combination of Notes created using the Notes feature, transcribed documents, abnormal assessments, and ED Disposition Docs. Notes highlighted in yellow are recently added notes (from the current day - defined as anything modified since 12:00am on the current day.)

To sort/filter the Note List

The Note List grid can be sorted by columns. Click the column header to sort the list by that column. Click the column header again to change the sort from ascending to descending or vice versa. You also have several other options to filter this grid:

If the grid has grouped data (see To configure the Note List grid for group/ungroup functionality) , you can expand and collapse the groups using the triangle arrows in the headers. Or, you can expand all or collapse all groups simultaneously using the triangle arrow button located in the top left of the header row.

To configure the Note List grid

The Note List grid displays several columns to identify the note (e.g. Patient Class, Charted Date/Time, Entered By, etc.)  The default view for List view is Visit #, Note Type, Charted Date/Time, Signed Date/Time, Entered by, and Patient Class.

You can personalize this grid with custom views so that when you view the Note List, it displays information in a way that you like and need to see it.

  1. Click the blue Configure Grid button located all the way to the right in the column header. [+] The configure grid box is displayed.
  2. At the top of the window, use the drop-down list to select the desired view for the grid. If no view is available, create a new one:
    1. Click the blue Add button. The Add New View box is displayed.
    2. In the available field, enter the name of the custom view.
    3. Click Save.  

To edit the view name, click the Update View Name icon next to the view name. Make the desired changes and click Save.

  1. Customize the view using the options below:

At any time, you can reset the selections to the default by clicking the Reset button. This removes all the selections that you've made in this view and allows you to start over. Otherwise, the changes are automatically saved to the selected view (step 1).

  1. If desired, you can create multiple views. Click the blue Add button to create another view name (as described in step 2) and customize it (as described in step 3). Changes are automatically saved as you make them.
  2. Once you've finished your selections for the view(s), click outside of the configure grid box to close it and return to the Note List.
  3. At any time while viewing the Note List, you can click the Configure Grid button to change to one of your custom views.

To change the Note List format

The Note List defaults to the List format, which means that the content of the note is not visible until you click the note. To view the content of the note, you have two additional options using the buttons at the top of the screen:

To view the Note

From the Notes List, click the desired note in the grid to display it in the text box. From this view, you can do the following actions:

To edit the Note

The note can be edited by selecting the note from the List (click on the note to display it), Split, or Preview views. When the note is displayed, click the Edit button. The Edit window is displayed. Make the desired changes and click the Draft, Sign, or Discard button. See Creating Notes for additional details on editing notes.

To print the Note

The note can be printed by selecting the note from the List (click on the note to display it), Split, or Preview views. When the note is displayed, click the Printer button. The Print Preview window is displayed. If desired, check the Show erroneous addendums box. Then, click Print. Or, click Cancel to close the Print Preview window.

To close/expand the Note List pane

To close the Note List pane, click the X located in the top right corner of the pane. Or, at the very bottom of the screen, a list of open panes is displayed. Click the X located next to the Note List. (To reopen the Note List pane, click the Menu button and select Note List.)

To expand the Note List pane to full screen, click the expand arrows button located next to the close button.
