The Quick Admit function is used to enter minimal information on a patient in order to admit the patient as quickly as possible so that charting can begin and orders can be entered and administered. The default patient class (e.g., emergency room, skilled care) and facility are set up in the Patient Registration System Parameters window.
Quick Admits can also be generated through the Centriq Emergency Department and Hospital applications.
Examples of when to use the Quick Admit function:
Accidents involving multiple patients
Emergency Room admissions involving patients who are unconscious and have no forms of identification
Until the Admission or Medical Records staff completes the registration process for Quick Admits, charges merging from Order Entry will merge into the Bad Merged Charges file.
Patient registration and the Clinical Documentation application: Once the data is saved, the patient can be viewed in the Centriq Clinical Documentation application. Staff can begin charting in the Clinical Documentation application without having to wait for the patient’s full MPI record to be verified in Patient Registration.
