Healthland provides different products that provide functionality for different areas of healthcare. In meeting those needs, vernacular changes among the staff in each of those locations can sometimes cause confusion. Episode Number Assignment is Medical Record Number plus sequence number of 0001, 0002, 0003 etc. E.g., A patient with MR# 3500 on their 8th visit would have an Episode # of 3500-0008. The combination of MR# and Episode are unique. |
Quick Admit Used when the identity of the patient is not known. Assigns a new MR#, and defaults in names - user has to only answer approx. age, first name (Jane/John), and doctor. Triage Visit Used when the patient is known, but you cannot get additional information from the patient. Both populate a review screen/process where the users are able to validate the information. |
Patient Class Category / classification of what type of services a patient is receiving. |
Patient Type Utilized during registration to indicate the last 3 digits of the GL Revenue number when charges are posted. Also used for reporting. |

Admission Number (Admit Number) Unique number between the range of 1 and 99,999,999. Most Healthland clients have between 1 and 999,999. No two numbers will ever duplicate. |
Quick Admissions (Prior names also included "Quick Reg") Used to register a patient with minimal questions. Populates a review screen. Unknown Patient This is an option in the search screen of Quick Admissions. Used when patient is not known, defaults values based on parameter. |
Patient Type Category / classification of what type of services a patient is receiving. |
GL Suffix Users never see this value. (It is set up in a parameter to control the last 3 digits of the GL number during the charge posting.) Based on the admission financial class + patient type. |
