Healthland provides different products that provide functionality for different areas of healthcare. In meeting those needs, vernacular changes among the staff in each of those locations can sometimes cause confusion. This section is intended to identify and clarify the different verbiage used throughout Healthland's products.

Episode Number

Assignment is Medical Record Number plus sequence number of 0001, 0002, 0003 etc.  E.g., A patient with MR# 3500 on their 8th visit would have an Episode # of 3500-0008.   The combination of MR# and Episode are unique.

Quick Admit

Used when the identity of the patient is not known.  Assigns a new MR#, and defaults in names - user has to only answer approx. age, first name (Jane/John), and doctor.

Triage Visit

Used when the patient is known, but you cannot get additional information from the patient.

Both populate a review screen/process where the users are able to validate the information.

Patient Class

Category / classification of what type of services a patient is receiving.

Patient Type

Utilized during registration to indicate the last 3 digits of the GL Revenue number when charges are posted.  Also used for reporting.
